DJ MIM has quickly become one of DC’s most sought after female DJs. She is a Washingtonian whose life-long love affair with music drew her to the art of deejaying. She didn’t realize after scratching on, and scratching up, her first record at the age of 8, that 20 years later she would launch her own mobile entertainment service and become a professional DJ. Throughout the years leading up to her DJ career, DJ MIM amassed a vast and very diverse music collection. Her music foundation began with listening to Motown, 70s disco, old-school hip-hop and 80s soft-rock. She is a multi-genre DJ and spins an eclectic mix tailored for each event while taking her listeners on a musical ride.
DJ MIM prides herself on being a self-taught DJ whose style reflects a passion for blending and mixing music. Every time she touches the turntables she likes to create her own signature soundtrack. She is often complimented on her smooth transitions and ability to move seamlessly from various genres throughout her sets. Even though she feels it's still a novelty for some people when they see a female DJ performing, she enjoys standing out and takes the accolades in stride. She is very ambitious, humorous and driven. Her unique personality and professionalism continue to open many doors for her not only as a DJ, but as an entrepreneur as well. In addition, she continuously uses her craft to support the local music and fashion scene and also aspires to include music production and sound engineering in her repertoire.
DJ MIM has residencies at various clubs in the DC Metro area and deejays at a host of private, community, and corporate events as well as retail stores. She has performed at large venues such as The Patriot Center (VA), 930 Club and Howard Theatre (DC), The Fillmore (MD) and the Tampa Amphitheatre (FL). Some of DJ MIM’s retail clients have included: ALDO, Bloomingdale’s, DTLR, Microsoft, Nordstrom, Sephora, Steve Madden, Sports Zone Elite, Victoria’s Secret, Verizon Wireless and Yelp. She was awarded the Titan Arts Awards “DJ Of The Year” in 2014, 2015 and 2017, "Enterprising Woman 2016" by TAGG Magazine, "40 Under 40: 2019 LGBTQ Women of Washington DC" by the Washington Blade and the DC Mayor's Office and has been featured in local and national media publications. She is also the Brand Ambassador for FOU-DRÉ Vodka.
What also makes DJ MIM standout out is her dedication to her community. She allocates time every month to donate deejay services for events in support of various social causes and local non-profits - in addition to her volunteer work and activism.
